Fun Gifts for 8 year old boys

These Gifts for 8 year old boys are sure to please!

Minecraft- How many kids have I met who love Minecraft? Tons. My own kids were fully into Minecraft at one point and I even tried my hand at it, but I was not nearly as good as them. They had the time and so got very good at creating their worlds. It’s amazing the amount of creativity that this game allows and which I think is the reason it attracts so many. So if you have a Minecraft lover, there are a few options you could go with. Lego has a full line of Lego Minecraft worlds to build along with various toys, stuffed animals, and Tshirts available that would make great gifts for 8 year old boys.

Science/Nature- Do you have a bookworm on your hands? 8 year olds love bugs and rocks and dirt and some even love collecting and observing them. Bug collectors, magnifying glasses, binoculars, butterfly habitats, and maybe even a microscope. National Geographic has a great bug book as well.

Laser Tag/Nerf- You CANNOT ever go wrong with Laser Tag or Nerf. This spans so many ages and crosses gender lines. Who doesn’t like to run around shooting their friends? With Laser tag you know you’ve been shot when it either makes a sound or special lights appear and your gun becomes disabled for a few seconds. And the best part is, no darts to pick up. With Nerf guns of course there are so many different guns to choose from.

Star Wars- The newest Trilogy has begun. Star Wars- The Force Awakens came out in 2015. 2017 will bring Star Wars- The Last Jedi. The last in this Trilogy will come out in 2019. So Star Wars will be thing for a while coming. If you’re 8 year old loves Star Wars and Lego there’s a multitude of Lego sets to choose from. Light sabers are always a fun boy gift as well.

Remote Control- R/C cars/trucks can be a big hit for 8 year olds. Think of the fun of racing around the kitchen floor or going off ramps in the driveway. Father and son will have equal fun with these. Make sure you have at least 2!

Super helpful article. I’m a preschool teacher but our center provides care for school age kids as well. The older kids seem to love minecraft and legos. One other thing they were really into for a while is magnet snaps/tiles. Basically they are just flat colored magnetic shapes that you can build all sorts of geometric structures with.

    Hi!

Your gift ideas for eight-year-old boys are so on point. I’ve got an eight-year-old son who watches Minecraft on YouTube from dusk to dawn (i.e., whenever he can get his hands on his table), and he recently asked for a Lego Minecraft toy. I’m not sure where he learned about all the characters of Star Wars, but I won’t be surprised if it’s from his school buddies. It seems Minecraft is currently a thing among boys these days and a Minecraft toy would be a great gift choice.
If there’s anything that I would add to this list, it’s a fidget spinner. My son and his friends are so into it.
